Kristin's Story

It's not enough to read about "speaking the truth in love." Kristin's story shows us what speaking gospel truth to one another can look like in a real person's real life circumstances....Keep Reading

Hope's Garden

One of our members, Liz, is battling cancer and a sweet friend of ours, Rose, made a beautiful quilt to raise funds to help with expenses. Here is Rose's explanation of why she had this idea. ...Keep Reading

lessons from a 1970′s co.worker (part two)

Yesterday's thoughts has me asking myself some pretty probing questions: Why should I care for my home when I know people are just going to keep messing it up? Why did I discipline my kids for arguing and being disrespectful when I knew they would do it again within days or hours or minutes? Why should I trust God to help my hurting friend when it seems my prayers have gone unanswered? Why can't I "sin back" when those I love are uncaring, selfish or lazy?...Keep Reading

lessons from a 1970′s co.worker (part one)

My mom was one of the parents who regularly said, "Because I said so." I told myself I would never say that...like I told myself I would never make my kids clean on Saturday mornings so they could watch cartoons like the rest of the world....Keep Reading

When Prayer Isn't Answerered...My Way (Part Two)

(This is Part Two of this story. Please see yesterday's post for Part One.) The day my Uncle Rocky died I was heartbroken, but I knew I had to tell Josh and Jaime. I still remember feeling perplexed and disappointed. I didn't remember ever believing so strongly that God would heal. I had so wanted them to witness a real miracle......Keep Reading

Looking For That Needle Of Superiority

Do you remember the point I repeated my last post? Our faith-filled obedience to God pleases Him and sanctifies our work. The good news is that while the type of work we do differs, God's pleasure is the same whatever our work is!...Keep Reading

Praying for our First Miracle

Yesterday was a mixture of joy and sorrow for Redeemer Church. Have we changed our name to Ultimate Power? No. That's just the name of our new location. Who would have ever thought of checking at marital arts studios to see about renting space for a church? We're glad someone did. It's a great situation for us, and gives us room to grow. We're grateful....Keep Reading

New Beginnings

I'm at a season of life where it seems like it's time to slow down. Nothing is working quite right anymore. I need glasses for aging eyes and anti-inflammtories for aging joints. I forget names and what commonly used household gadgets are called. Solitude invites me to steal away (which I enjoy doing at times!) while a growing family and new church lovingly require me to get even busier than ever. The commercials say Benny and I should be anticipating retirement after all the years of being in the throes of parenting and pastoring. Sometimes I envy those who can....Keep Reading
